Forest ecosystem modelling

We offer a thesis opportunity on modelling activities within several projects about: impact of natural disturbances (e.g. wildfires, drought) on forest growth, functionality and resilience; relevance of forest ecosystem for hydrological protection; relevance of late successional forests for balancing biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation and mitigation. Main activities (not limited to): field surveys to collect input data for modelling framework; data elaboration and management; support to modelling parameterization, calibration and initialization.

Starting date: flexible, depending on student’s need.

Expected duration: 2 to 6 months.
