UNIMONT, center of excellence of the University of Milan, took part in the second consortium meeting of the Horizon Europe MountResilience project of which it is the leader. The event, held in Innsbruck, Austria, on 16th, 17th and 18th April 2024, brought together over 80 representatives of the 47 project partners from 13 European countries. During the three days, professionals and members of the institutions involved discussed the first results of the project, focusing on sharing crucial information for the adaptation, mitigation and effective management of climate change challenges.

The Horizon Europe MountResilience Project, launched in September 2023, involves 47 partners with the ambitious goal of improving the adaptability of European mountain regions to climate change.Given the large areas which are mountainous – 35% of European territory, and their great vulnerability to extreme weather and to variations in temperature, it is essential to develop strategies and nature-based solutions specifically adapted to this environment.

Do you want to find out more about the Horizon Europe MountResilience Project? UNIMONT will present it during the Infoday of the Agency for the Promotion of European Research – APRE, dedicated to Horizon Europe missions, scheduled for May 7th, 2024.
