CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE AWARD OF TWO DEGREE THESIS PRIZES PROMOTED IN COLLABORATION WITH VALLE CAMONICA SERVIZI VENDITE S.P.A.

Valle Camonica Servizi Vendite S.p.A., as part of its commitment to promoting a culture of sustainability and enhancing the Camonica Valley area, establishes, in collaboration with the Association Val.Te.Mo. APS, two degree awards for theses addressing issues related to the environment, energy or sustainability, exclusively referring to the territory of the Valle Camonica.

The initiative aims to support young graduates who, through their research work, contribute to deepening and promoting knowledge of the resources, challenges and opportunities linked to the ecological transition and sustainable development of the Valle Camonica.

ELIGIBILITY

All students who obtain a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from degree programmes delivered by the UNIMONT Centre of the University of Milan between 1 September 2025 and 31 December 2026 may apply, by submitting a thesis that deals directly, thoroughly and with appropriate documentation with issues exclusively related to the territory of the Valle Camonica, with reference to one or more of the following areas:

Environmental sustainability and management of natural resources in the Valle Camonica;

Energy, renewable sources and energy communities in the Valle Camonica context;

Circular economy and sustainable innovation applied to the Valle Camonica area;

Protection and enhancement of the territory, landscape, and environmental and cultural heritage of the Valle Camonica;

Any other topic connected to environmental, energy or sustainability issues specifically referring to the Valle Camonica.

AWARDS

Two awards of €1,000.00 each (gross) are available.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants must submit, no later than 31 December 2026, the following documentation in digital (PDF) format:

A copy of the degree thesis;

An abstract of the thesis (maximum 2 pages);

Curriculum vitae;

A motivation letter clearly and with supporting evidence highlighting the link between the research carried out and the territory of the Valle Camonica.

EVALUATION AND AWARDING

Applications will be assessed by a judging panel composed of representatives of Valle Camonica Servizi Vendite S.p.A., the UNIMONT Centre of the University of Milan, and experts in environmental and energy-related fields.

The evaluation will take into account the following criteria:

Relevance of the thesis to the territory of the Valle Camonica;

Originality and innovativeness of the research work;

Scientific and methodological quality of the thesis;

Applicability and potential impact on the sustainable development of the Valle Camonica.

Both Bachelor’s and Master’s theses may be submitted; Master’s theses will automatically receive additional points.

AWARD CEREMONY

The awards will be presented during a ceremony, the organisational details of which will be communicated at a later date.

The date and venue of the event will be notified to the winners with adequate notice.
