Over 400 participants for the meeting on large carnivores: interviews with some of the speakers now online

The initiative was organized by the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan, in collaboration with: Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences – University of Milan, Lombardy Sector – Stelvio National Park, Adamello Park – Comunità Montana di Valle Camonica, MUSE – Science Museum, Polizia Provinciale di Brescia, Regione Carabinieri Forestali Lombardia, DifesAttiva APS.

More than 400 participants, both in person and online, attended the meeting dedicated to the presence of large carnivores held at the UNIMONT Centre on August 18th. This significant turnout confirms the central role and strong relevance of a complex, and often divisive topic, highlighting the growing need to create spaces for dialogue and listening, that can combine scientific evidence with concerns and sentiment of local communities.

To deepen the topics discussed during the event, some video interviews of the participating speakers and experts are now available online, along with the full recording. Through their insights, is possible to review the key points of the debate, ranging from field monitoring to best practices for behavior and prevention.
