20/06/2017 09:50   ·  Istituzionali

From 20th to 23rd June, students of the Mountain University – the  Edolo Campus of the University of Milan- will be in Rieti for a field trip: 35 UNIMONT students have decided to take part and many activities have been arranged on “mountain topics.”

Thirty-five students of the first, second and third year of the degree course in Conservation and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas of the Mountain University, accompanied by their lecturers, left on 20th June 2017 for a four-day educational trip to Rieti. They will be staying at Centro Carlo Jucci, an historical building refurbished to provide accommodation in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  During the four days,  UNIMONT students will have the opportunity to perform and take part in various and numerous activities centering on the world of mountains.

A tour among unfinished works in a “Mountain in Difficulty”, the Terminillo Lab – a Joint School Laboratory Territorial Project – and an excursion to the top of  the Terminillo with the guidance of the Italian Alpine Club and Alpine Rescue group. Educational and cultural visits to the Laghi Lungo Reservoir and Ripa Sottile, to the springs and to the Santa Susanna Mill, to the trout farm and the dairy farm, as well as a visit to the Ferrari Farm. Moreover, students will meet representatives of the University of Tuscia and the Degree Course in Mountain Sciences – and will also have the opportunity to meet the mayor and local farmers.

The Mountain University, as an innovative center of excellence for training and research into the complexity of the mountain territory, through the organization of educational tours, aims to promote a university education that offers stimulating opportunities for young students, aiding development of knowledge of mountain areas in various cultural, social, environmental, historical and artistic aspects.
