Great Participation in the meeting dedicated to the presence of large carnivores on the territory

The meeting was organized by the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan, in collaboration with: Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences – University of Milan, Lombardy Sector – Stelvio National Park, Adamello Park – Comunità Montana di Valle Camonica, MUSE – Science Museum, Polizia Provinciale di Brescia, Regione Carabinieri Forestali Lombardia, to understand how to navigate consciously in an environment shared with large carnivores.

The event recorded a high turnout both in person at the UNIMONT Campus in Edolo and remotely, sparking a lively debate enriched by questions and contributions from the participants.

During the meeting, the need to promote a conscious coexistence between humans and large carnivores emerged clearly. Speakers highlighted the fundamental importance of scientific monitoring to overcome fake news and misinformation, relying on rigorous data. Active listening to all stakeholders was reiterated as key to finding a lasting balance, while also delving into practical prevention measures and the role of livestock guardian dogs.
