Campus:

Padova

Duration:

3 Years

Coordinator:

Prof. Stefano Lanzoni

Description:

The Ph.D. School in Civil and Environmental Engineering Sciences promotes and coordinates advanced and interdisciplinary formation in the fields of Hydrodynamics, Environmental and Soil Engineering, Computational Mechanics, and Structural Engineering.
The Ph.D. School aims at training students for basic and applied research, international scientific cooperation, and /or interfacing with private and public stakeholders. In particular, the School provides two types of high formation. The first is specifically devoted to research and preparation to academic career. The second aims at training people for applied research in public agencies and private institutions, with particular attention to practical applications of mathematical and numerical modeling.
The Ph.D. School lasts three years and during the first year provides a number of compulsory courses, usually concerning the basic formation of the Ph.D. Students.
The Ph.D. School takes advantage of the spaces and the structures made available by the three Departments (Dept. of Hydraulic, Maritime, Environmental and Geotechnical Engineerin, Dept. of Methods and Mathematical Models for Applied Science, and Dept. of Structures and Transports) which participate in the School. Each Ph.D. student has at his disposal a writing-desck with a PC. and can use, with high priority, the Laboratories of the various Departments.
