Shape the future of mountain tourism with MOUNTAINSIDE: Apply until October 30

How can students from forestry, agriculture and environmental sciences help lead the sustainable tourism development of mountain areas?

In the “Current Issues in Mountain Tourism Management” course taught at the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan within the international Master’s Degree MOUNTAINSIDE, Adjunct Professor Monica Basile equips students with the skills required to become local development facilitators.

Students learn how to connect businesses, institutions and communities, mediate among territorial stakeholders, and transform mountain heritage into shared, long-term value, by applying the Win-Win UNESCO Experience model to a real UNESCO mountain destination.

The model, designed and successfully applied by the lecturer in the training of 3,000 multidisciplinary entrepreneurs, enables students to develop practical skills in:

  • experiential tourism product development
  • stakeholder collaboration and mediation
  • public-private partnership building
  • heritage-based local development
  • off-season tourism development

Watch the video with Prof. Monica Basile to discover the course, which is also available as a stand-alone course and is delivered in person over two intensive days at the UNIMONT campus in Edolo.

Apply now to the international Master’s Degree MOUNTAINSIDE – Valorization and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas at the UNIMONT Campus of the University of Milan, you have until October 30!
