SOCIETAL PLANNING TO MEET CHALLENGES IN SHRINKING RURAL REGIONS

The seminar will explore practical and theoretical approaches to land-use and societal planning in shrinking regions, addressing key themes such as policy making, second homes, tourism, stigma of shrinking, sustainable development and realistic planning. Drawing on case studies and decades of research, Professor Overvåg will discuss strategies for balancing development needs with long-term resilience in rural communities.
