In this context, the success of the international workshop held at the Hotel degli Sciatori at Passo del Tonale takes on strategic importance: a high-profile educational meeting dedicated to the challenges facing ski resorts and the evolution of the ski instructor profession in the context of climate change.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">Among the numerous international activities promoted by the <strong>UNIMONT Hub of the University of Milan,<\/strong> to foster the exchange of expertise and best practices, the workshop organized at Passo del Tonale stood out. It involved approximately <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"208\">90 students from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-hannover.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universities of Hann<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\"><b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"208\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-hannover.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">over<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/en\/1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of G\u00f6ttingen<\/a><\/b>, representing various faculties (Sports Science, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, and Forestry). The participants\u2014future outdoor leaders and primary\/secondary school physical education teachers, certified to guide and teach alpine skiing to students, explored the management of mountain destinations under the guidance of Professors <strong>Mischa Lumme<\/strong>, <strong>Tim Schoen<\/strong>, <strong>Julia Zilles<\/strong>, and the <strong>UNIMONT Hub research team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">The meeting, coordinated by <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"28\">Laura Pasinetti<\/b> (UNIMONT PhD Candidate) and <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"72\">Raffaella Balzarini<\/b> (Researcher and Project Manager of the Interreg TranStat project), presented practical case studies on adaptation:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"7\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The TranStat Project:<\/b> A multi-sectoral methodology designed to guide ski resorts toward diversified and systemic tourism-economic models, moving beyond a model based exclusively on skiing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Prato Valentino 2050:<\/b> A local initiative in Valtellina focused on tourism desonalization and the enhancement of regional heritage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">The core of the event was a practical session where students, divided into groups, simulated managing a ski school during<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">a Christmas season marked by low snowfall and high temperatures. The future professionals had to develop complex organizational plans, addressing logistical, financial, and communication challenges. Some of the most innovative solutions proposed by the students included:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"12\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Reshaping the Offer:<\/b> Shortening the duration of ski lessons and integrating them with &#8220;green&#8221; activities (such as playful forest exploration and horseback riding).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Environmental Education:<\/b> Transforming traditional lessons into opportunities to explain the effects of climate change on the Alpine landscape.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Logistics and Safety:<\/b> Organizing chairlift transport to higher altitudes (where snow is guaranteed) with the support of young local volunteers to supervise children.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\">The enthusiasm and critical thinking demonstrated by the students underscore the importance of these international exchanges. In conclusion, the professors from the German universities expressed great satisfaction with the event:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-path-to-node=\"16\">\n<p data-path-to-node=\"16,0\"><em>&#8220;We are very happy to have the opportunity to discuss current challenges and the necessary adaptations of ski resorts with current research experts.
