{"id":53363,"date":"2025-09-15T07:57:21","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T07:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unimontagna.it\/?p=53363"},"modified":"2025-09-15T08:20:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T08:20:18","slug":"unimont-gtu-tbilisi-academic-alliance-strengthened-with-the-conclusion-of-the-mission-in-georgia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unimontagna.it\/en\/unimont-gtu-tbilisi-academic-alliance-strengthened-with-the-conclusion-of-the-mission-in-georgia\/","title":{"rendered":"UNIMONT\u2013GTU Tbilisi: Academic Alliance Strengthened with the Conclusion of the Mission in Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>From 7 to 14 September 2025, a delegation from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unimontagna.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNIMONT<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unimi.it\/\">University of Milan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong> \u2013 composed of <strong>Prof. Anna Giorgi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>head of the UNIMONT Hub of the University of Milan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Prof. Riccardo Guidetti<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Director of the<a href=\"https:\/\/disaa.unimi.it\/it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences \u2013 Production, Territory, Agroenergy (DISAA)<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Prof. Stefano Corsi<\/strong>, l<strong>ecturer at the University of Milan \u2013 UNIMONT Centre<\/strong>, took part in a week of meetings and activities at the \u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gtu.ge\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Georgian Technical University (GTU) in Tbilisi<\/a><\/strong>, as part of a capacity building programme supported by the Georgian Government.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The visit marked an important step in the path of academic and scientific collaboration between UNIMONT \u2013 the Alpine Hub of the University of Milan \u2013 and GTU, consolidating the ties initiated in recent months during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unimontagna.it\/en\/unimont-and-georgian-technical-university-together-for-the-mountains-the-international-exchange-week-has-finished\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the mission of the Georgian delegation in Italy<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The program included working sessions on course syllabi, exchanges with faculty and students, as well as visits to university laboratories and facilities. In addition to academic activities, the delegation had the opportunity to explore areas of natural and cultural significance in Georgia: from an alpine botanical garden to protected areas of the Caucasus, and the wine region of Kakheti, engaging with local communities committed to enhancing environmental and cultural resources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>A week in Georgia, among the mountains of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, where environmental and climatic diversity combine with extraordinary biodiversity and a rich cultural variety.
