The team of the Geology and Seismology Laboratory (GEOLAB) of the University of L’Aquila will deal with the seismic history of the Apennines, the peculiar characteristics of earthquakes in mountain environments and the experience gained in the territories of Central Italy affected by earthquakes in 2016 and 2017.
After a mention of the seismology of the Apennines, the meeting will detail the most significant phenomena that have affected the area of the “crater” in recent years. Particular attention will be paid to the earthquake that destroyed Amatrice in August 2016.
Moving from science to technology, emphasis will also be placed on the role played by Civil Protection before, during and after the earthquakes.
