Walking for the sake of walking but with an ambitious project in mind: to follow the Alps from Trieste to Monte Carlo, alone and without logistical support. This book is an adventure diary: it describes the fatigue, the worries, the fears, but also the small but important daily joys like finding a lost track, getting to lunchtime, a plate of polenta and a glass of wine…… all immersed in a sensation of estrangement, away from worldly things; an often extreme solitude, in a state of suspension, unreality, dreaming. From this intangible matter, a tragic event that in some way involves the author takes shape. So, the protagonist, despite himself, plays the part of an unknowing detective. Truth or fiction? Boundaries are lost: dream and reality, therefore, are fused and molded in the story, like the clouds carried by the wind between the cliffs and the rocky gorges. The seemingly reckless meeting between two very different genres helps to make the reading of this diary pleasant and, at the same time, compelling.
