BOOK DESCRIPTION Valeria Margherita Mosca, with dedication and obstinacy, has transformed a family tradition, that of walking in the woods, into a job. Today from her base in Valmalenco in Valtellina she travels around to hold courses, trips and lessons in foraging. Thanks to her website Wood*ing, with the help of experts, she spreads the culture of collecting wild plants, whilst guaranteeing personal safety and protecting the environment.
She also loves preparing recipes based on these ingredients – whole, tasty, healthy and colourful dishes or menus. An expert in foraging with a passion for trekking and exploration, Valeria Margherita Mosca shows us a new world. A world that is future, sustainability, beauty, adventure and that invites you to reconnect with nature in the simplest way: eating what it offers. Over 150 species of herbs, flowers, shrubs, trees, fruits, mushrooms, but also lichens, algae and molluscs – common in our habitat or incredible and almost mysterious – alternate with many suggestions to learn about and explore the most diverse environments.
THE AUTHOR: Born in Brianza, a degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and an important experience in food preparation with Giancarlo Morelli at Pomiroeu in Seregno, Valeria founded Wood*ing subhead Wild Food Lab, a very special and interesting project at her headquarters at Villa Buttafava, on the border between Desio and Seregno. With her are the wild-mixologist Giuseppe Mancini, the chemist-toxicologist Micaela Placentino, fermentation biotechnologist Luca Giuliano, and the artist/artisan Virginia Devoto.
