The history of the Italian Touring Club: Italy was born recently, how can it be made known to Italians? A group of Milanese entrepreneurs who were keen cyclists decided to discover it, talk about it and map it. The first publications developed in a short time, from the monthly Touring Magazine to the Red Guides that became essential tools for discovering the country’s artistic, cultural and natural heritage. Italians were invited to take travel photos and send them to Touring. The only condition: to take pictures of everyday life.
Tourism has evolved over the decades and, with it, so have TCI publications. How has the narration of the territory changed? How can it be promoted and described today?
