The Research Centre for the Sustainable Management and Protection of the Mountain Environment - Ge.S.Di.Mont. of UNIMONT, centre of excellence of the University of Milan located in Edolo (Bs), is publicizing the public consultation called by the Lombardy Region to define shared paths for the sustainable development of the territory.
Lombardy Region is launching a public consultation with citizens, stakeholders and public administrations to join together to define shared paths for sustainable development of the territory taking environmental, economic and social factors into account.
In 2015, Italy joined the United Nations new Agenda “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development” and in 2017 approved the National Strategy for Sustainable Development as the main tool for coordinating the implementation of Agenda 2030 in Italy.
The strategy intends to strengthen the collaboration and interaction skills necessary to integrate sustainability objectives into territorial and sector policies. Defining a new growth model is a strategic objective at both a national and regional level.
On 18th September, the new challenge of the Lombardy Region, launched with the signing of the Protocol for Sustainable Development, was launched from Palazzo Pirelli: the objective is to make our area, already the economic engine of the country, a “sustainable locomotive” able to drive the national transition towards new development models.
This public consultation aims to contribute to a long-term view, to carry out targeted and shared actions, above all, built on the needs of the people and the specificities of the territory.
The questionnaire provided expands on the priority areas of the circular economy and the bioeconomy, within the theme of sustainable development.
The consultation will remain open until November 11th.
