From the 4th to the 5th of July 2017, the Professor Anna Giorgi of the University of the Mountain was invited to teach at the International Summer University at UTAD – Universidade de Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro – which at this time is hosting three UNIMONT students in Erasmus.
The International Summer University, held at the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Vila Real, Portugal, promotes a new and multidisciplinary approach built around three main themes: geoparks, sustainable regional development and lifestyle healthy. This advanced teaching and professional experience aims to stimulate an innovative practice by involving technical knowledge, concrete realities, practices of environment management, paying particular attention to local communities.
The experience of UNIMONT, with its ever-expanding network, is a significant example of how an innovative center of excellence, that deals with the development of territory, represents an incentive to strengthen its competitive potential .
The presence of UNIMONT at the International Summer University in Portugal is also a consolidation of the partnership established between the University of the Mountain and the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in Vila Real, which currently is hosting three UNIMONT students and graduates who chose to join the Erasmus Placement project, by using the tools offered by the European Union with regard to the promotion of the territory at an international level.
UNIMONT offers to other students and graduates the opportunity to make international experiences through the same program; those who are interested can contact the secretary for more information. Thus, UNIMONT center of excellence is increasingly characterized by the important role as a “bridge” between the Italian mountains and the world
